Foothill Dog Rescue (FDR) was founded in March 2013 to make a difference in the lives of the many wonderful dogs in shelters through no fault of their own. To date, FDR has saved over 5,000 dogs by rescuing them from high-kill shelters and owner surrenders, placing them in foster homes, and adopting them to well-matched forever homes.
Foothill Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer organization that does not have any paid staff. FDR has 150-180 volunteers including fosters, office staff, and Adoption Event staff. The organization is solely funded by adoption fees, donations, and fundraisers. The more support FDR receives, the more lives they will be able to save. FDR provides its foster families with everything they need to care for their dogs in foster care. This includes food, crates, toys, training, and medical care. Before adoptions are finalized, FDR ensures that each dog is fully vetted, including spay and neuter, vaccinations, adult dogs are heartworm tested and all dogs and puppies microchipped. They also provide any special medical attention required.
